We engage indigenous Pastors around the world to conduct three to four day practicum in evangelism. Students apply the training that is non-denominational, and non-confrontational. A variety of methods are taught.
We also believe in the value of evangelism with a touch. Our National Trainers are heavily involved in their communities as church Pastors, church planters and other ministries. Some have orphanages and schools with a Christian curriculum. Some have Bible Colleges. They provide care for widows and orphans, assistance in food and water crises, humanitarian relief and more. We love our Pastors and endeavor to walk alongside them to the extent that our financial resources allow.
We also send mission teams to assist with the evangelism training, Pastoral discipleship, Vacation Bible Schools and humanitarian relief following natural disasters.
We appreciate the value of spiritual growth through prayer, Bible study, Christian apologetics and hands on Pastoral discipleship. Every two years or so we gather our National Trainers/Pastors for a week of training, fellowship and team building. Some of the best support our Pastors receive is from each other. Iron sharpens iron you know and sometimes it can seem like you are experiencing challenges no one else experiences. Yet, when you come together you learn that most everyone has similar challenges. We learn so much from each other and receive great encouragement.
Village Baptist Church in Fayetteville has been a great supporter of Pastoral discipleship among many things. Pastors, Dr. Richard Lee and Kevin Duffy have been generous to travel with us and to pour into our team of National Trainers/Pastors.
Most of the people and most of the places in which we minister have a shortage of Bibles. We believe a person will better understand and grow in their faith when they have a Bible in their heart language. Psalm 118:11, “Your word I have hidden in my heart that I might not sin against you.”
Regular reading and studying of the Bible not only helps someone grow in their faith but it can improve family home life and engender the sharing of God’s precious word with neighbors.
The Bible really is the Basic Instructions Before Leaving Earth but that acronym doesn’t translate so easily into other languages. We try to provide new believers with their own Bible. Depending on the country and language, Bibles cost $7 to $10. We also provide our Pastors with comprehensive Study Bibles to help them in shepherding their flocks. Study Bibles run from $50 and up. The demand for Bibles exceeds our resources. If you are able to please support our Bible fund. You’ll be providing a gift that makes an eternal impact.
Judy Russell joined a mission team to Uganda. As she prepared to leave, young Victor, one of Canaan’s students reached up to hug her and said, “Mama, I love you. I will miss you. I will pray for you. Will you come back?” His words burned in Judy’s spirit. As she returned home, she was reminded that God had already revealed the answer to Victor’s question over 2000 years ago, in John 14:18: “I will not leave you orphans, I will come to you.”
The Gate Ministry mission statement reads: “To provide love and encouragement through letters to school children at Canaan Children’s Home reinforcing scripture, their value and pointing them to Christ.
The ministry name comes from THE GATE located in front of the “Baby School”. Infants, toddlers and older children are often left at THE GATE in the middle of the night. Their parents do not want to be identified – they are either too proud or feel extreme shame because they cannot afford to feed their children. They drop their children off at THE GATE hoping to give them a better life at Canaan Children’s Home. For more information email TheGATEMinistryUganda@gmail.com
There are many opportunities in many places to hold Vacation Bible School type activities for children. Activities filled with Bible stories, sing-alongs, games, arts and crafts. Face to Faith often partners with His Outreach Worldwide in children’s programs and literature.
Donations designated for Child and Orphan Care are used for food and clothing, school fees and materials and various children programs.
Hurricanes, earthquakes, food crises, lack of water impact our neighbors in the communities in which we work. Where we have caring and compassionate people on the ground we help by providing financing assistance and sometimes are able to put mission teams on the ground to help. We are mindful that we are representing God while serving in this way and the gospel is incorporated in all our efforts.
Donations earmarked for humanitarian needs help provide relief and development aid.
God gives us a variety of talents and gifts and calls all to kingdom work. There are Christians gifted in prayer. Some are talented in marketing, promotion, updating our website and social media. Accounting and organizing are important. Maybe you’re called to serve on mission teams. Some are called to send being gifted in giving and fund raising.
Matthew 7:7, “Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and it will be opened to you. We would like to organize a prayer team to regularly pray for our National Trainers and the needs they have. Contact us to join our prayer team.
The ministry relies on volunteers. Let us know how God has gifted you. We have needs in the areas of prayer, social media, newsletters, serving on the Board of Directors, website updating and maintenance, fund raising and more.
Acts 1:8, “But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria and to the end of the earth.” John 4:35… “The fields are white for harvest.”
Donations are important to ministry and we trust the Lord to provide. Whether you give once, occasionally or on a scheduled basis please accept our heartfelt thanks. We promise to do our best with the resources entrusted to us.
Psalm 145: 3, “Great is the Lord and greatly to be praised; And His greatness is unsearchable.”
